Invitation to Write Hello Listserv Members, I would like to initiate written conversation among STC-ETC members, friends of the chapter, working or retired, regarding their professional experiences-what helped or hindered a project; a book or resource of particular benefit; an event that exceeded expectations; "a day in the life"-anything you deem helpful. We will enjoy several benefits from this exercise: * Learn more about our profession * Become better acquainted with others in our network * Acquire a reputation as a "learning community * Add publications to our resumes * Practice the fine art of communication outside the relatively narrow purview of the job * Rebuild our archives Board members rightly asked if, as initiator, I would, well, initiate! I attached my first foray and invite you to respond in kind. Our wonderful webmaster, Laurel Bowen, will collect these pieces and make them available on our website as part of her initiative to create a Body of Knowledge. We can use our listserv until our website matures and Laurel can give us a posting procedure. I invite you to skim the attached and respond with your own entry mailed to the listserv. Let's enjoy satisfying our curiosity about "what the other person does," pick up insights, and connect.
