FAIR Experience Assistantship in the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Archives Founded in 1935, the Tony Award-winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is among the oldest and largest professional non-profit theatres in the nation. Each year OSF presents an eight-and-a-half-month season of eleven plays in three theatres plus numerous ancillary activities, and undertakes an extensive theatre education program. Operating on a budget exceeding $26 million, OSF presents more than 780 performances annually with attendance of approximately 400,000. Inspired by Shakespeare's work and the cultural richness of the United States, we reveal our collective humanity through illuminating interpretations of new and classic plays, deepened by the kaleidoscope of rotating repertory. Purpose: To provide an emerging archives or history professional experience in a professional theater archives that is in the midst of intensive collections processing as a result of a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission. Assistantship:Responsibilities of the Assistantship may include: collections processing, creation of inventories and finding aids, digitization, basic preservation, metadata creation, and other tasks as assigned. The apprentice will be mentored by Lead Archivist Maria DeWeerdt. The FAIR Experience Manager will support the apprentice in achieving their objectives at OSF by facilitating access to company members, meetings and events. The apprentice will receive housing, travel expenses, a $1,000 monthly stipend. Criteria: Candidates should be currently enrolled in a Bachelors/Masters program in Library Science or History.
