Hey all you Canoe & Hikers, We had the best run canoeing down Clear Creek this weekend in 22 years according to Mr. Randy Bigbee. If you see him around be sure to give him a big thanks for all that he did to put that trip together. This Wednesday we’ll have our last meeting of the semester at 6:30 outside of Humanities near the bull statue, unless it’s raining. If so, we’ll be inside of Humanities in room 68. Thursday April 28th from 4-6 pm there is a Sport Clubs Cookout at Circle Park, all of the Canoe & Hiking Club is invited. There will be free food and drinks and a raffle I believe. It would be great if we could get a bunch of folks out there to represent the club, so if you could just come by even for a few minutes that would be great. There seems to be a buzz going around about maybe doing a rafting trip and a sea kayaking trip in the month of May (we have until the end of May to spend the rest of our allocated money). Please let me know if you are interested in either one of those events and let me know when would work for you. Also, I don’t know if a lot of you know or not, but we can take trips in the summer (even past May)whether it's official or not, and we can have access to UTOP gear as a club if necessary. So if you want to submit an idea for a trip or lead one over the summer, go ahead and either talk to a club officer or send out your idea on the listserv; even if it’s just “hey I want to go boating this weekend, who wants to go with me?” Also, if you have any pictures from club trips or events, please send them my way. I believe there will be another email to come about an end of the year party, and we will hopefully be able to hand out everyone’s t-shirts before a lot of folks leave for the summer.
