Here's the agenda for the rest of the semester:
Officer Elections (This Wednesday at 6:30 April 13th)
We will have officer elections this week at the meeting, if you would like to run for a position, just give me a shout, or tell us at the meeting. It’s pretty informal, so don’t worry.
Volunteer event – Adventure Race ( This Saturday April 16th)
We will start working at 8 am and food & drink will be provided. I’m not sure yet exactly what we’ll be doing, or what time we’ll be done, but it should be pretty fun. I’ll get you more details asap. If you would like to help with this event, it would be greatly appreciated, and it would give us a better chance of getting more money through the university. Please let me know if you are interested, but not on the list yet.
Cades Cove Full Moon Bike Ride (Tuesday April 19th)
Mega cool bike ride. You should go. We’ll meet at lot 66 at 7:30, and leave shortly after. If you want to come along on this trip, you can reserve a bike from UTOP. It is an official trip so gear is free and gas is covered. We will carpool and probably have a trailer for bikes if enough people come. We’ll get back around midnight or maybe a bit later.
Clear Creek Canoe trip ( Friday April 22 – Sunday April 24) Easter Weekend
If you want to go on this trip and you have not been before, then you must attend the meeting this week at our normal time. Randy will be going over several important details at the meeting. If you cannot make it to the meeting because of class or work, then you need to send me an email or call me so I can catch you up to speed. You must also go to the roll session this Thursday from 7-9 pm if you have never been on this trip before; this is mandatory. Randy will be there to school us on some canoe tactics and safety.
Whitewater Canoe practice at the roll session (This Thursday, April 14th)
This is for the folks going on the Clear Creek Canoe trip (see above). It is from 7-9 pm at the Student Aquatic Center. Wear your swimsuit.
Official Trips between Monday April 25th – Saturday April 30th
I got an email from the Club Sports office, saying that if we want to have any official/approved travel during this time, then we need to have it submitted today by 5pm. Sorry for the late notice, but if any of you want to lead a trip during this time period, act fast and call me so I can put a request in before 5pm today.
Official Trips from Sunday May 1st – Monday May 30th
If you would like to lead a trip during this time, let me know asap. I am considering leading one sometime during this period, but don’t let that stop you from leading one. We have until May 30th to use our university funding, so those of you that will be around this summer should take advantage of it.
T-shirts
Mr. Ben Dorger is working on some pretty swank club t-shirts. If you are a registered club member and paid your dues, then you can sign up for a club t-shirt that is free. If you would like one, please let me know what size you want or come to the meeting this week and sign up for it. If you just want a shirt and are not an official club member, let me know and I’ll let you know how much it will cost. If you don't sign up for a t-shirt or contact me about it, then there will not be one waiting for you.
See you all this Wednesday at 6:30. The meeting will be outside of Humanities building near the bull statue, unless the weather is bad. If so, we’ll meet in room 68 of Humanities.
