The iSchool at Drexel Master of Science in Library and Information Science Student Receives Presidential Management Fellowship

The iSchool at Drexel, College of Information Science and Technology is pleased to congratulate Master of Science in Library and Information Science student Katherine Orr on her recent receipt of the Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF).
The PMF is a program of the Federal Office of Personnel Management. The two-year fellowship is designed to fast-track talented people into high-profile federal jobs. Orr's father was a Presidential Management Fellow, and subsequently a career federal employee. According to Orr, although many applicants to the program are from law school or public administration program, she was attracted to the program because it offers interesting opportunities for advancement in information sciences.
"It is really an honor to be chosen for such a competitive and prestigious fellowship, and to be among such successful and dedicated recipients as my dad," she said.
During the program, PMF Fellows rotate through a sequence of skill-building courses and accelerated professional development opportunities. The program is administered by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, and is the Federal Government's cornerstone succession planning program to help agencies meet their critical need for leadership continuity.
