Like Bernie, I was in the UIUC GSLIS class of 1974-75. I was in the process of resigning my commission as a naval officer (LT USN) and looking for a graduate program. I had been accepted at several but visited two: Chicago and Illinois. Dr. Goldhor was a great salesman. I was hooked on Illinois. I probably should not write this, but the office staff allowed me to forward my mail to UI while I was in transition. The Navy was moving my household good from the house we sold in Virginia Beach and my wife and I were retrieving items we had stored at my parent's house in Upstate New York. All finally came together as we moved into graduate student housing. I suspect, however, that some junk mail was delivered long after I graduated. I clearly remember my visit with Dr. Goldhor and the impact he made on my life. He was 94 years old. A memorial service will be held in Seattle for family and close friends later this spring.
