Coe College is pleased to announce the opportunity for a highly qualified professional to play a transformative role at a small Midwestern liberal arts college library. The college invites applications and nominations for
Director of the Stewart Memorial Library, a beautiful undergraduate facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, that houses a distinguished art collection, as well as the William Shirer archives. The Director serves as the chief executive officer of the library, and
is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of the college’s library program, as well as working collaboratively with the campus community to create a dynamic academic center for teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of current trends in academic library services and academic engagement in a liberal arts environment, and will provide the vision and leadership needed to manage the evolution
of the library as technology continuously reshapes its operations.
Candidates with an MLS from an ALA accredited program with at least five years of administrative experience are encouraged to apply.
Coe College is a highly selective liberal arts college with strong support for undergraduate research. The College is located in a progressive Eastern Iowa metropolitan area of 200,000. The area offers the usual range of
urban amenities and includes a thriving symphony and art museum. The University of Iowa and Iowa City are thirty minutes away, and the city is located roughly mid-way between the Midwest’s largest urban centers, easily accessible via the full-service regional
