Share your great ideas with YALSA!  The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) is seeking proposals for programs for continuing education sessions for ALA's 2012 Annual Conference in Anaheim, CA, June 22 – 26, 2012. YALSA is looking for programs that highlight innovations &/or best practices in young adult librarianship in these priority areas: Advocacy, Leadership, Outreach, Programming, Readers' Advisory, Research, Young Adult Literature and Youth Participation.  YALSA seeks creative, innovative proposals that address new topics, or that address current topics in a unique way.

Individuals may submit multiple proposals; however, no individual will be chosen to present or co-present more than one program. Proposals that are largely sales pitches or that focus only one particular product will not be accepted. All presenters, moderators, speakers, etc. will be expected to cover their own travel and conference registration costs. Programs will need to be either 90 or 120 minutes in length.  To submit an RFP, please go to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YALSA2012rfp.  Proposals will be accepted until May 31, 2011.  Please feel free to share this information with colleagues.

About the conference: The ALA Annual Conference is the largest library conference in the world—there is something for everyone!  While full conference attendance ranges from 18,000 to 28,000, between 800 – 1,200 YALSA members attend the ALA Annual Conference each year.  At the event, YALSA hosts over 100 meetings, programs, events and social gatherings.  Presenters/speakers who participate in YALSA’s programs gain national exposure and can take advantage of the ability to network with the movers and shakers in the field of young adult librarianship.  Opportunities to extend the reach beyond conference attendees by blogging, presenting a webinar, writing an article, etc. are available to presenters/speakers.
