Bernie may also want to see research by Project Information Literacy (PIL), an ongoing research study in the University of Washington's Information School that investigates how college students conduct research and find information for course-related and everyday life research.
In 2010, a PIL survey report was released with research findings from 8,353 U.S. students from 25 different campuses (41 pages).
