Mark Your Calendar: IT CoP Brown Bag in March
Our February meeting included open discussions on departmental moves,  
adaptable teaching spaces, and successful online course delivery with  
Centra. Bring your lunch and join colleagues in conversation about  
trends and issues in instructional technology on Thursday, March 24

GTA@OIT Grant Recipients Announced
OIT's Spring 2011 GTA@OIT Grant recipients are excited for the  
opportunity to learn new strategies for enhancing their courses and  
engaging their students via [log in to unmask] Each semester OIT invites  
Graduate Teaching Assistants/Associates with full responsibility for  
teaching a course to apply for the GTA@OIT Grant. OIT's Instructional  
Development Team assists grant recipients in the redesign and  
development of the GTA’s course or course component for online  
delivery. The assistance includes one-on-one instructional design  
consulting, Technology-Enhanced Classroom training, and consulting on  
the use of Online@UT features including communication, assessment, and  
evaluation. Recipients are also awarded $500 to be used for travel and/ 
or professional development purposes.

This semester's recipients are:

Liahna Guy, Graduate Teaching Associate, School of Music: College of  
Arts and Sciences
Proposal Title: "Music Dictation: A Blackboard Course for Student  
Practice."

Trent Hoy, Graduate Teaching Associate, Dept. of Modern Foreign  
Languages and Literature: College of Arts and Sciences
Proposal Title: "Fostering International Communication and  
Understanding in Lower-Division Foreign Language Course Through  
Mobile- and Social Media-Based Games."
