Subject: Freight indicators

Hello all,

We are wanting to hear from practitioners about the kinds of indicators and tools you use for:

     - evaluating the effectiveness of your goods movement network,
> We identified "freight bottlenecks" on the highway network (congested segments with high volume or percentage of trucks).

     - evaluating the effectiveness of proposed improvements (or scenarios) to your network, and
> The prioritization tool we used to help pick projects for the LRTP considered freight. For example, it gives extra points to 1) highway projects which increase access to port facilities, and 2) intermodal projects which increase the movement of trucks.

     - determining strategies for improvements to your goods movement network.
> In our CMP, prior to identifying strategies for addressing congested corridors, we used truck volume and percentage (as one of several criteria) to identify critical "CMP Congested Corridors".

Thanks,

Marshall
