Maryland’s iSchool Hosts First Doctoral Research Day

 

College Park, MD (February 2, 1011)—The College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, Maryland’s iSchool, is hosting its inaugural Doctoral Research Day on Monday, February 14, 2011, from 2-5 pm. This event will be held in Room 2116, as well as surrounding research and lab space on the second floor of the South Wing of the Hornbake Building.

 

Presentations will feature a wide range of interdisciplinary research related to information sciences and management from doctoral students in the Information Studies program. Confirmed presentations include: “Getting Connected: Social Media Use by the Homeless,” "Evaluating Museum Inclusiveness: A Pilot Assessment in the Mid-Atlantic Region” and “Towards a Comprehensive Conceptual Framework for Describing Communication in Science.”

 

Posters and mini-talks will take place from 2-4 pm, followed by an awards ceremony and reception from 4-5 pm. Refreshments will be provided.
