Athens State University in Athens, Alabama is accepting applications for an entry-level Reference & Instruction Librarian with a strong service orientation, excellent communication skills, and technological proficiency. Primary duties include providing reference service and library instruction to on-campus and off-campus students and faculty. Some evening and weekend hours may be required, as well as occasional travel to off-campus sites. An ALA accredited MLS, strong written and oral communication skills, and a willingness to travel are required. Recent reference or instruction experience in an academic library, experience providing library services in a distance education environment, and some knowledge of cataloging procedures are preferred. Faculty rank and salary will be based on education and teaching experience.
