Subject: [archives] Paid Internship: US-DC-NARA Public Affairs & Communications Staff Via http://twitter.com/#!/archivesnews/status/28136306244587520 announcement of a part-time, paid internship in NARA's Public Affairs and Communications office: http://www.internships.com/posting/social-media-communications-intern The civil service grade (GS-4) actually is at the level at which I worked my first federal summer job while I was an undergraduate majoring in history. (I didn't work at NARA but at other executive branch agencies.) I was lucky--I was a commuting student who lived at home. Lucky because scholarships and a National Defense Education Act loan covered my costs. (My freshman year scholarships covered all of my tuitition). So it worked out well for me. I wasn't depending on the GS-4 salaried job to support myself entirely. I wasn't in an internship position but was hired under summer employment hiring authorities. My federal summer jobs actually counted towards federal service when I got a permanent federal position later and went onwards and upwards. Fingers crossed that some of the NARA opportunities lead to success for others, also.
