This is a re-posting of our earlier announcement that we are seeking a *Digital
Collections Technology Librarian*.



"The National Transportation Library (NTL), part of the USDOT's Research and
Innovative Technology Administration (RITA), seeks a Digital Collections
Technology Librarian to join our team. NTL, established under the
Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century, is responsible for
collaborating with federal and other libraries to identify, collect,
preserve, and maintain transportation information, and making this
information available to researchers, decision-makers, and the general
public. RITA coordinates the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT)
research programs and is charged with advancing rigorous analysis and the
deployment of cross-cutting technologies to improve our Nation's
transportation system. This position is located in the Bureau of
Transportation Statistics, National Transportation Library (NTL), Research
and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA). As the Digital
CollectionsTechnology Librarian, you will be responsible for leading the
development and enhancement of digital repository services, information
organization, digital curation, and tools/software that facilitate discovery
and use of NTL resources including leadership of the NTL Technical Services
Team.The NTL Technical Services Team is responsible for web application
design and maintenance cataloging, collection maintenance, and web site
maintenance. Among other duties, the team maintains and enhances the
functionality and provision of (a) the NTL Integrated Search System,
including the NTL Digital Repository, (b) the Transportation Research
Thesaurus (TRT), the NTL web site, and (c) other applications, most of which
are homegrown, open source, and off-the-shelf software. If you know someone
