University of Maryland's Master of Information Management Program to Expand to Shady Grove

College Park, MD (January 6, 2011)-The University of Maryland's College of Information Studies, Maryland's iSchool, will begin offering its Master of Information Management (MIM) degree program at the Universities at Shady Grove, located at 9630 Gudelsky Drive in Rockville, Maryland, in Fall 2011. The MIM program combines elements of information science, computing and management to educate information professionals to manage information and technology strategically.

The iSchool has offered the MIM program since 2003 to fill the need for highly trained information professionals in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Through coursework and a final capstone project experience, students balance theoretical learning with practical skill development and have the opportunity to study and solve real-life information management problems. Courses cover a wide range of topics in the field of information management, including knowledge management, information architecture, Internet applications development, database design and maintenance, project management and competitive intelligence.

MIM courses are offered in the evenings to accommodate working professionals, and are taught by highly qualified researchers and practitioners. Applications to the program at Shady Grove are accepted at any time and admission is offered on a rolling basis.
