ZAI is looking for an individual who will be responsible for the
preservation, organization and dissemination of artifacts and documents
located in six U.S. locations. This project will be supported and managed
from Washington, D.C.   The individual will manage the design and
development of a system to capture, store and manage the project assets.
Responsibilities include the development and implementation of project
timelines; manage workflow; make staffing assignments; coordinate work team
activities; and ensure that work activities are aligned with the client’s
initiatives.
    The successful candidate will have proven expertise and leadership
providing access to collections documentation in an archive or museum
environment; including a thorough knowledge of data management, digital
media production, and the ability to initiate, prioritize, manage and lead a
team of technical, production and cataloging staff.

*Duties include*:
Responsibilities include providing administrative and curatorial leadership
for six separate facilities throughout the country; overseeing the
development and implementation of a database for the collection; budget
management; supervising staff and day-to-day operations.  The individual
will need to be willing to travel for an extended period of time while
conducting inventories out at various facilities throughout the United
States, plus conduct routine project site visits.

*Required*:
Position requires a Library Science/Archival degree (MLS), Museum Studies,
or other graduate degree along with clearly documented professional
experience and accomplishments; curatorial and administrative experience
equivalent to a degree.

*Preferred*:
An art background, art history background, or arts administration; extensive
experience with a wide variety of media, approaches, and historical periods;
both a museum background as well as work in galleries serving an art
department; knowledge of historical and modern American art; record of
significant, nationally-recognized scholarship and/or creative activity.

 The Adler Planetarium (Chicago, IL) is seeking a Women’s Board Manager,
reporting to the Director of Major and Individual Gifts in the Museum’s
Advancement Department.

The position is an integral part of the Adler’s fundraising team and serves
as the chief staff liaison for the Adler Women’s Board.  In this capacity,
the Women’s Board Manager will work with high-level volunteers (including
trustees) and staff to lead two major fundraising events: the annual
Celestial Ball gala and the Women in Space Science Celebration, and manage
the Women’s Board’s annual appeal.

*Duties and Responsibilities:  *

   - Staff and prepare all materials and logistics for Women’s Board regular
   meetings, executive committee meetings and event committee meetings.
   - Support the annual Celestial Ball (fall black tie gala) with assistance
   of event consultant, including committee meetings, sponsorship, auctions and
   publicity.
   - Oversee Women in Space Science Celebration, including sponsorship,
   luncheon logistics, afternoon education and outreach program.
   - Staff and prepare all materials for the Women’s Board annual appeal.

*Education required:*  BA degree is required.

*Experience required:*  Three to five years of development experience
working with skilled fundraising volunteers.  Expertise in special events
management is preferred.  Honed written and verbal communication skills,
attention to detail, leadership and organizational skills are essential in
this position.  Candidate must also have the ability to meet deadlines while
working on multiple projects and while managing volunteers’ schedules and
needs.  Must have experience using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and
Raiser’s Edge fundraising software.
