FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES include:
Teaching two or more courses per semester at the graduate or undergraduate level, including at least one course in the core curriculum. Advising students, participating in the life of the School, including service on School, College, and campus committees, and developing/maintaining relationships with graduates and other members of the library and information science community. Develop and sustain an active research agenda.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Earned doctorate by time of appointment in information sciences, library science or related area. Demonstrated teaching ability and established research record or demonstrated research potential.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience in one or more of the following areas: information organization/cataloging; scientific and technical information; competitive/business intelligence; information architecture; medical/health informatics; archival studies; information security.
Experience or demonstrated ability in design and delivery of courses in a variety of formats, including distance learning modes, is highly desirable.
SALARY
Commensurate with experience and highly competitive at the rank of assistant professor. Opportunities for summer teaching. UT participates in TIAA/CREF and offers an excellent benefits package, including partial tuition reimbursement for dependents enrolled at the University.
