JOB DESCRIPTION: Researches, analyzes, and prepares written recommendations for changes or additions to current guidelines or best practices in the area of digital imaging and image processing. Serves on internal, national and international groups or committees that are tasked with developing technical imaging guidelines. Advises and trains digital imaging practioners in methods of digital imaging, digital image performance analysis, and equipment calibration and profiling.

Reviews and evaluates technical literature, professional research, trade studies, or other analyzes in digital image technology. Interprets and evaluates findings for use and applicability to missions, programs, projects, and issues at hand.

Designs, plans, and implements scientific programs, projects, or studies in the field of digital Imaging and image processing with a concentration on the practical application to the imaging of historic content.


SKILLS:
* Knowledge of the principles, theories, concepts, methods and techniques in the field of physics, with significant experience in those sub-disciplines related to digital imaging.
* Planned, developed and evaluated projects or programs in the field of physics.

* Ability to prepare technical and scientific reports and findings related to the field of digital imaging.
* Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute collaborative projects.

The Pfau Library invites applications for the following temporary
position: Water Resources Cataloger.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform original descriptive and subject cataloging for a variety of
formats; monographs, serials, maps, photographs, archival collections.
Perform copy cataloging in several subjects from OCLC. Work closely
with subject specialists and reference librarians to provide
intellectual and physical access to materials in a timely manner.
Assist with creating finding aids to archival collections. Assist with
creation of a searchable database of digitized content

QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library
science program. Strong organization, analytic, and problem solving
skills. Sound knowledge of cataloging rules and standards, including
AACR2, LCRIs, LCSH, LCC, MARC. Recent cataloging experience, including
a substantial amount of map cataloging. Working familiarity with OCLC.
Experience with an integrated library system, preferably Innovative
Interfaces Inc.'s Millennium. Effective oral and written communication
skills; PREFERRED: Experience creating finding aids. Experience with
organizing and maintaining archival materials. Familiarity with EAD.
Subject background or strong interest in geography, cartography, or
geosciences

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: This is a 12-month, TEMPORARY, non-tenure track
faculty position, entry level. The salary range is $4,757.00-10,700.00
depending on qualifications.
