Dear Colleagues:

The National Transportation Library (NTL), part of the USDOT's Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA), seeks a Reference Librarian to join our team. NTL, established under the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century, is responsible for collaborating with federal and other libraries to identify, collect, preserve, and maintain transportation information, and making this information available to researchers, decision-makers, and the general public. RITA coordinates the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) research programs and is charged with advancing rigorous analysis and the deployment of cross-cutting technologies to improve our Nation's transportation system.

NTL is offering a developmental/semi-seasoned opportunity for public service-driven professionals who are motivated and self-reliant, and who can share their experience performing reference services which includes meeting and anticipating the information needs of patrons, conducting searches, the planning and collection of reference materials and planning reference programs/services to meet patrons needs with skilled professionals who ensure the safety and fairness of the transportation industry.

If you know someone interested in this Washington, D.C. based position with relevant experience and proven results please encourage them to apply under the attached vacancy announcement.  We are looking for a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
