Good News

--- UTPD spent five days in Hodges Library looking for wallets, phones, laptops and other property left unattended. And what they found was a treasure trove for thieves — nearly 150 personal items left up for grabs. Part of the Gotcha! Program, UT police officers distributed "gotcha cards" to individuals in the library who left their items unsecured, explaining to them that in the time it took for them to leave the card and walk away, someone else could have walked away with their property. "As the end of the semester approaches, hours spent by students in the library will increase but unfortunately so will property theft," said Lt. Emily Simerly. Learn more about how to keep your property safe at http://www.utk.edu/tntoday/2010/10/25/utpd-tips-prevent-theft/.
