When the change occurred doc students were not asked about the change. It occurred at the board level as this happened the year after I was in charge of the doctoral poster session. It was assumed the doctoral poster session was for employment purposes to show doctoral research. 

I never thought this was a good or wise thing. I was also never asked as a former doc sig chair.
