"The National Center for Education Statistics released a report today

"that shows a continuing decline in the proportion of university instructors who work full time. According to the report, "Employees in Postsecondary Institutions, Fall 2009, and Salaries of Full-Time Instructional Staff, 2009-10," between the fall of 2003 and the fall of 2009, the proportion of full-timers fell across all institution types, with private, nonprofit two-year institutions seeing a 10-percent drop. In addition, the report details sharp increases in the number of female professors at both public and private institutions. Another part of the report covers faculty salaries and benefits. Data on faculty pay in 2009-10 by institution,
