The University of Denver LIS community is sad to report that Dr. Anne J. Mathews has passed away. She was the former Director of the office of Library Programs, U.S. Department of Education, and Professor of the former Graduate School or Librarianship and Information Management program at the University of Denver. Dr. Mathews died peacefully at Life Care Center of Evergreen on October 21, 2010. A Celebration of life for Anne will be held at 2pm, November 13, 2010 at the Rothland Community Church, (17 S. Mount Vernon Country Club Road, I-70w, exit # 254). The Family suggests In Lieu of Flowers memorial gifts be made to the church to help support the Olmotonyi Middle Girls School in Arusha, Tanzania.
