Assistant Professor, Reference and Instruction Librarian 

Responsibilities:
* Metropolitan State University is seeking an enthusiastic and talented librarian to join our team in providing library services including information literacy instruction and research assistance.
* Some evening and/or weekend work will be required as will travel among metro area campuses.
* Other responsibilities will include selection of print and electronic resources and serving as a liaison to the College of Management which is instituting its first cohort of students for the Doctorate of Business Administration.
* Each of the reference and instruction librarians teaches a two credit information literacy course.


Our student population is mainly urban, ethnically diverse adult learners who take courses on one of four campuses or via an expanding online program. Most students attend class part-time. Our librarians are tech-savvy and service-oriented. Persons from diverse populations are especially encouraged to apply.
The university Library and Learning Center opened in 2004. It features an Information Commons and more than 100 computer workstations. Minimum Qualifications:

* Master’s degree in Library and Information Science;
* Demonstrated commitment to serving a culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse student body;
* Excellent communication (intercultural, oral and written) skills;
* Knowledge of current methodologies in reference, information literacy and reference resources plus the ability to apply that knowledge in an academic and instructional setting;
* Must be collaborative, service-oriented, and interested in the application of new technologies to library services.
