Hey all future sea kayakers, Here's the plan for fall break. We will meet at UTOP at 5 tomorrow (Wednesday) to load the kayaks onto the trailer, any and all help will be appreciated. Before UTOP closes tomorrow, you will need to rent a sea kayak, paddle, spray skirt, pfd, dry bags and any other camping gear you might need. We will rent out stoves and water filters, but tents, sleeping bags, and other camping gear is up to you to rent. Everyone is responsible for their own gear and for packing their dry bags before Thursday morning. Thursday morning we will meet at lot 66 at 8:00am and head out for the put in point. The first day we will kayak to campsite 87. Friday we will move out to campsite 81 where we will stay both Friday and Saturday nights. On Friday and Saturday, there will be time to fish and explore the nearby trails and creeks. Sunday we will pack up and head back to the Cable Cove take out point. The weather will be colder than usual, so pack accordingly. Also, we will be staying in backcountry sites, so pack as if you would for a backpacking trip. You will need meals for breakfast on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; and dinners for Thursday, Friday and Saturday as well as lunches. See Logan's email earlier in the week for a good packing list.
