The Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) of the American Library
Association (ALA) seeks nominations for the               Margaret E. Monroe
Library Adult Services Award.

Established in 1985, the Margaret E. Monroe Award is a citation presented to
a librarian who has made significant contributions to library adult
services. The individual may be a practicing librarian, a library and
information science researcher or educator, or a retired librarian who has
brought distinction to the profession's understanding and practice or
services for adults.

The criteria for "significant contributions" will be judged by such factors
as publications, leadership, measurable effectiveness of programs, influence
on others, and creative and innovative concepts.

Past recipients have included:  Nancy Pearl, Barry Trott, Allan M. Kleiman,
Cynthia Orr, Duncan Smith and Connie Van Fleet.  This year’s award jury
includes:  Allan M. Kleiman (Chair), Loriene Roy and Shelley Quezada.

follow the submission instructions therein.

Deadline for submission of application and materials is December 15th.
