Title: Leadership in Context: Economics, Education and Ethics

Abstract

Access to the record of human activity and achievement enables and
ignites innovation, service and citizenship. Every day the quantity,
diversity and complexity of the world's knowledge increase at a rate not
previously confronted. Those who will lead and project pathways through
this remarkable record must be fully conversant with the character and
context of both the precise information need and available information.
Without complete confidence and a deep understanding of today's
information dynamics, the entire enquiry is at risk. In today's
information era, the security, order, integrity and accessibility of
recorded knowledge are the hallmarks of a civilized society. New and
expanded contexts, vocabularies, platforms and roles are needed for 21st
century knowledge professionals. This presentation will address
leadership imperatives with special attention to current economic,
education and ethical challenges
