FSU announces fall colloquia focusing on LIS education

 

The School of Library & Information Studies at the College of Communication & Information, The Florida State University (FSU), announces three fall 2010 colloquium focusing on LIS education:

 

September 15 – 1:00 PM  

Collaborative Syllabus Development: A case study

Dr. Gary Burnett, Dr. Michelle Kazmer and doctoral student Adam Worrall will discuss the collaborative development of a syllabus for a doctoral seminar in qualitative methods that they will be submitting for approval this semester.

 

October 13 – 1:00 PM

Quality, Professionalism, or Mediocrity: The role of accreditation in the information disciplines

Dr. Laurie Bonnici, Assistant Professor, School of Library & Information Studies, University of Alabama, will provide an overview of the role of accreditation in professional education.  

 

November 3 – 1:00 PM

New Technologies for Teaching & Learning

Dr. Lorri Mon will introduce recent technological innovations for teaching and learning.
