Dear Club Geography students:

The Department of Geography would like to invite you to the lecture below. Dr. Gamble will also meet with students on Thursday from 2 to 3 pm in BGB 406. This meeting is a great opportunity for students who are interested in climate change research. Desserts will be served at this meeting.

Dr. Doug Gamble, Associate Professor at the Department of Geology and Geography at the University of North Carolina - Wilmington will present "The Caribbean Mid-Summer Drought: Cause, Climate Change, and Perception."

This presentation will be held on Thursday September 16 from 3:40-5 pm in Walters Life Science M311.

Dr. Gamble's visit is sponsored by the Visiting Geographical Scientist Program of the Association of American Geographer and Gamma Theta Upsilon. Dr. Gamble’s interests include applied climatology and hydrology, island/coastal environments, and the Southeast and the Caribbean. His current research interests include the hydro-climatology of the Bahamas and the Northern Caribbean, weather patterns and rainfall chemistry in Wilmington, and the development of a coastal climatology for North Carolina and the Southeast.

Dr. Gamble will meet with undergraduate and graduate students on Thursday September 16 from 2 to 3 pm in Burchfiel Geography Building 406. Interested students are encouraged to attend.
