GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Investigates, evaluates, and implements appropriate technologies and applications to improve library services and patrons access to information. Director, Philip Johnson's Glass House
Responsible for all aspects of operations, finances, preservation, programming, promotion, and fundraising for Philip Johnson's Glass House as a National Trust Historic Site. The Director supervises all site staff, is the liaison with various community organizations (including the City of New Canaan and the New Canaan Historical Society), and reports to the Vice President of Historic Sites of the National Trust. The Director will be responsible for managing the site in a manner consistent with the mission and goal of the National Trust, and for the creation of a strategic plan and development of a fundraising Advisory Council to support the site.

REESE LIBRARY – AUGUSTA STATE UNIVERSITY
Automation Librarian
Nature of Work:
Provide strategic leadership in developing effective access to and
use of electronic information sources. Participate in the ongoing
development of automated library information systems and helps maintain
the efficient operation of existing automated processes. Maintain,
coordinate, plan, and implement applicable library-wide computer
systems, including automation systems, digital projects, Internet-based
resources, mobile device access, and locally produced databases. Report
to Library Director and/or Associate Library Director.
Examples of Responsibilities:
· Coordinates
the development, implementation and maintenance of automated systems
within consortial and campus requirements, and advises on potential
automation
- Liaises with campus Information Technology Services (ITS) to maintain all automated systems
- Liaises with the Service Site Coordinator for Georgia’s consortial
catalogs and research databases, Galileo Integrated Libraries (GIL) and
GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online (GALILEO)
- Coordinates maintenance and development of the library Web site within campus requirements
· Provides
library instruction, including classroom instruction, training of staff
and faculty, and preparation of interactive materials, with a focus on
automated resources
· Performs other duties at the reference desk as assigned, including nights and weekends
· Fulfills responsibilities as a faculty member including serving on committees, attending professional meetings and publishing
· Supervises one full-time employee and student assistants
· Performs other duties as assigned by Library Director and/or Associate Director
Requirements:
· American Library Association (ALA)-accredited Master's degree
· Ability
to quickly learn, employ, and adapt technology to local needs,
especially for library automation systems, digital media and projects,
Internet technologies, networks, and Windows systems
· Ability to supervise and direct the workflow of a department
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
· Excellent
oral and written communication skills; strong service orientation;
ability to translate technology for inexperienced users
· Aptitude for acting as liaison between Reese Library and campus and external technology providers
· Commitment to and enthusiasm for reference service and library instruction; including nights and weekends

DUTIES: Create metadata for digital objects of text, images, and audio
materials to facilitate access to NIST digital archive collections.
Develop metadata records and coordinate quality control procedures.

interoperability with national digital repositories. Develop taxonomies
and controlled vocabularies for enhancing discovery and creating
