Student Archives Associate
DATES: Mid September-Mid December
STATUS: Seasonal, 40 hours/week for 12 weeks
POSITIONS: 2
DATES: Position 1 – 12 weeks between September 6 – December 17, 2010
Position 2 – 12 weeks between January 10 – May 20, 2011
SALARY and COMPENSATION: $3600 plus housing & meals (when food service is open)
Reports to: Sandra Besselsen, Director of Libraries

Description: This is a great opportunity for those interested in archival management. This position serves on the front lines of Interlochen’s new institutional archives initiative, providing much needed assistance in the organization of the archives across campus and assistance in the cataloging of print, historical and audio collections. Persons in this position would gain valuable experience assisting the archivist in a variety of capacities. Main job functions would include cataloging archive collections as well as preparing an online interface for those collections in preparation for the Interlochen Arts Academy 50th anniversary.

Qualifications: Candidates should be pursuing a Master’s in Library Science with an interest in archival work. This person must be technologically savvy, be able to learn new software quickly, extremely detailed oriented, and be willing to participate in a team environment. Preference will be given to those with prior experience in digital collections management and web design.

ADJUNCT FACULTY POSITIONS - ARCHIVAL STUDIES
COLLEGE OF INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOG

Drexel University's College of Information Science and Technology is accepting applications for adjunct faculty to teach graduate courses in archival studies.
The Archival Studies concentration, offered both as part of the MS(LIS) and as a post-masters degree certificate program, currently includes the following courses:
* Introduction to Archives I
* Introduction to Archives II
* Archival Access Systems
* Archival Appraisal
* Digital Preservation
* Electronic Records

Some courses are offered on campus; all courses are offered online. Please specify the courses for which you would like to be considered.

Requirements: MS degree and relevant industry experience.
