Ms. Martin has worked in several areas of academic libraries and in her most recent position she served as the Instructional Technology Librarian at Johnson C. Smith University. She is active in the professional community and has recently presented on information literacy, mobile libraries, and Web 2.0 technologies. Ms. Martin also has a book chapter in pre-publication on the use of Web 2.0 in the information literacy classroom. As a librarian she teaches information literacy classes and in her previous career she taught technology classes for clients and colleagues. Prior to academia, Ms. Martin worked as a network engineer and consultant for companies such as Lucent Technologies and eMusic.com. She also served as a communications consultant and information security researcher for Wachovia Bank. The LIS faculty and the faculty of the other departments of the School of Education at UNCG warmly welcome Beth Martin to the UNCG community and Charlotte campus.
