During the Winter term 2010, Wayne State School of Library and Information Science students in Lecturer Nancy Czech's Integrated Library Systems course compiled a user-friendly, librarian-friendly manual for the Koha preferences. Koha is an open source integrated library system which may be customized by libraries to suit the libraries' needs. The Winter class divided the lists of preferences (or options) on the Koha system and described each one. The documentation associated with Koha tends to be designed for a developer and not the end user. The objective of the project was to create a manual which could be used and understand by libraries who want to customize the system.

You may view Koha's press release on the WSU students' contribution at http://koha.org/ and you may find the link to the manual at http://koha-community.org/documentation/

Thanks go out to Nancy and the wonderful group of students who contributed to this project: Gregory Andrzejewski, Dianna Brown, Daniel Bryan, Megan Buck, Peggy Cookson, Andrew Drummer, Andrew Dyjach, Melissa Goins, Jessica Goodrich, Wanda Greene, Christine Greggs, Sarah Hashimoto, Peter Jaccarino, Kenneth Landa, Paul Quigley, Annette Similuk, Hope Standifer, Paul Townsend, Kendra Wisson, Faith Wolbers, Jennifer Wyatt, and Trevor Zuidema.
