There's Still Time to "Make the Move"
faculty with laptopThe 5-week program Making the Move: Teaching Online begins on Tues, July 13 with a face-to-face session and then moves online at participants' convenience. This is the perfect opportunity to plan an online or blended course. Topics include: essentials of a high-quality online course, course design, course development, course facilitation & community building, and course evaluation.

UT's clicker vendor Turning Technologies will conduct a Clicker Technology workshop on Wed, July 14, from 9:30am-12:30pm in Hoskins 110. All faculty interested in using clickers for the first time during the fall 2010 semester are encouraged to attend.

Creating Student Responsibility
for Deeper Learning: Wrap Up & Next Steps

Faculty at workshop activity 35 faculty, staff, and graduate teaching assistants gathered on Wed, June 16 for the TENN TLC and OIT Innovative Technology Consulting co-sponsored workshop on Creating Student Responsibility for Deeper Learning. Participants engaged in discussion and activities focused on creating opportunities for students to be responsible using technology and active learning techniques.

They enjoyed hearing from colleagues about what works for them, sharing their experiences with each other, and reflecting on their own course designs.

More Technology Training Workshops

We have a variety of workshops scheduled in July, including Introductory SharePoint sessions each week and a SharePoint Team Site Administrators session later in the month. The popular Electronic Thesis and Dissertation workshop is offered mid-month. Photoshop and Web Page Design with HTML series begin later in the month and extend into August.
