The Baker Center is hosting a 3 day workshop for area teachers (grades 4-12) on curriculum for civic education. Make civics come alive in your classroom with the "We the People" curriculum and the Baker Center Museum! Who: Upper elementary, middle, and high school social studies teachers What: We will visit the Baker Center museum on how government works and get training in two curriculums, Project Citizen and Citizen and the Constitution (www.civiced.org). Enjoy daily breakouts, lectures, and discussion groups. Learn from fellow teachers, UT faculty, constitutional scholars, public servants, and others as we explore how our government works. Enjoy that back-to-student feeling and be stimulated by interesting, rich, and interesting content. Discussion groups led by experienced mentor-teachers.
