RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position within the Sales group is devoted to selling with Innovative's Millennium Integrated Library System, or any of its complementary products.  This is achieved via high-level onsite meetings, product presentations, telephone calls, web-ex presentations and participation in trade conferences.  The position requires up to 50% travel.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires Master of Library Science and/or substantive experience in libraries or the library automation marketplace.  Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary.  Previous sales experience and working knowledge of Innovative's products are highly desirable.

Librarian I (Reference Librarian - Business Information Center)

Salary Range: Mid to high 30's

 

 

Responsibilities

The Reference Librarian will provide  library reference and instruction services for students, faculty & staff.

 

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

- Providing reference service for students, faculty and staff using print and electronic business resources via phone, e-mail and in person;

 

- Instructing students in library research and information literacy skills via workshops and class presentations;

 

- Creating and updating electronic materials (web site, online research guides, Power Points, etc);

 

- Maintaining the print periodical collection;

 

- Processing reserve materials for the library;

 

- Supervising student assistants;

 

- Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Education and Experience

Masters of Library Science (MLS), Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) OR Masters of Science in Information Science (MSIS) from an ALA accredited library school is required.

 

One year of librarian experience is preferred. Experience working in academic or business library preferred.

               

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills due to heavy interaction with faculty, colleagues and students. Must also demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing. A commitment to providing timely and concise customer service is essential.

 

Candidates must also demonstrate strong analytical skills and problem solving skills with the ability to identify and evaluate problems, as well as devise effective solutions.

Must also demonstrate the ability to analyze a reference question and recommend resources. A strong working knowledge in MS Office Suite and web authoring software is essential.

 

Online database searching experience is strongly preferred.
