Reference & Instruction Librarian

 

The University of South Carolina Beaufort invites applications for a non
tenure-track Reference and Instruction Librarian.  Located in South
Carolina's coastal islands, close to Hilton Head, Savannah, and
Charleston, the University of South Carolina Beaufort is the youngest
and fastest growing senior campus in the USC system.  

 

The Reference and Instruction Librarian provides reference services and
instruction of various types to students, faculty, staff, and other
library users.  Reference is done in-person and via electronic methods.
This position also assists faculty in Instructional Design for their
online courses. Assistance to faculty and instruction are done to
support the university's goal of developing information literate
students.  The incumbent works a flexible schedule of 37.5 hours per
week.  This is an annually renewable 12-month contract with benefits.
This position reports to the Director of Libraries.

 

An ALA-accredited master's degree in library and information science is
required. 

Experience in instructional design of online courses is strongly
preferred.  Also preferred is:  recent experience in an academic
library; recent teaching experience preferably at the college level;
and, recent experience with Blackboard and LibGuides.
