Imagine consistently being ranked one of the top graduate programs in the U.S. in your discipline, and yet being under review by your local institution to "explore structural and organizational changes, including possible consolidations, to realize budgetary savings."
 
That's exactly the situation that the University of Illinois Graduate School of Library and Information Science finds itself in as it's being scrutinized by the UIUC Academic Unit Review Committee, as mentioned in a recent news article on the Library Journal web site (see the last few paragraphs of: http://www.libraryjournal.com/article/CA6729330.html).
