Title: Building Functional Tell-and-Ask Interfaces
Understanding and leveraging user search behavior is increasingly becoming a key component toward improving web sites functionality for the health care consumer and provider. Dr. Jones' current research focuses on "tell and ask" functional interfaces where the user (i.e., nurse, patient, caregiver.) communicates with a knowledge base by making logical assertions (tells) and posing questions (asks) based on domain-specific knowledge representation, its ontologies and ontological commitments.

Speaker: Joan Decker, Records Commissioner, City of Philadelphia
Title: Historic Overlays on Smart Phones
The speaker will briefly describe the challenges of records management for the City and strategies for addressing them. Then she will explore the development of prototype "augmented reality" mobile phone applications that would allow users to see historic photographs of Philadelphia in the actual city locations by pointing the phone camera at the building. This project draws on the extensive records from the NEH-supported PhillyHistory.org database. Deborah Boyer of Azavea http://www.azavea.com/ will also be present to provide technical details about the implementation.

Title: Applying Product Attachment Theory in the Practice of Experience Design
In this talk, Assistant Professor Zimmerman will discuss how a research through design approach worked to connect product attachment theory to the design process; share a few example artifacts that have been designed as a result of this stance; and detail how other interaction designers and HCI practitioners might apply this perspective in practice.
