Communications Coordinator, Media Relations
Pay Grade 39, Full Time
Salary Dependent on Experience and Qualifications
This position will work with administrators and
representatives of colleges and departments to generate news stories and to
build a clear and consistent image of the university to a variety of audiences.
Write and edit news releases, features, speeches, talking points and website
content. Decide which messages and news need to be communicated from campus
officials and judge what news stories to share through various communications
vehicles (publications, web site, electronic newsletter) and media outlets.
Participate in strategy sessions, professional development and other duties as
required. A Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations or
related field. Three to five years experience in public relations, marketing,
communications or related field. Experience placing stories in national,
regional and local media. Proven knowledge of issues management, excellent
writing and problem-solving skills are essential. Ability to communicate
one-to-one and in groups when necessary. Must be highly organized and able to
work independently. A Master's degree is preferred. To apply: Submit a resume
