Library Director
Serials/Electronic Resources Librarian
The College of New Rochelle is seeking a dynamic, service-oriented individual to fill the position of Electronic Resources Librarian. This is a full-time, tenure track position, available immediately, reporting to the Dean of the Library.
Responsibilities include:
·
Coordination
of campus-wide selection, acquisition, maintenance, access, and
licensing of
electronic information resources purchased or leased from publishers,
aggregators,
and other vendors.
·
Develop
policies and procedures for managing of electronic resources; oversee
licensing
and compliance, tracking status, access/technology issues, database
specifications, and statistical reports.
·
Responsible
for implementing, updating and maintaining linking capabilities for
electronic
resources
·
Negotiate
agreements with vendors, serve as point of contact concerning consortial
agreements and represent the interests of all campuses.
·
Track
developments of new and changing electronic services and resources;
manage
trial programs; analyze options for database access; and make
recommendations
for library staff.
·
Participate
as a member of a team charged with evaluating user interface options
·
Share
Reference Desk coverage and participate in the planning, implementation,
and
teaching of library instruction.
·
Create tutorials,
research guides, and other learning and
information tools, in both print and Web-based formats
·
Serve
as Liaison to College departments and/or schools providing orientation
and
instruction to students, faculty and staff with efforts directed to
digital
resources.
·
Participation
in College governance bodies and professional development activities.
·
Supervise
Library’s print periodical collection (Innovative Interfaces Inc.
Serials
Module)
·
Supervision
of one full time assistant.
Required Qualifications: Graduate degree from an ALA-accredited library and information science program, or equivalent (second Master degree required for tenure); experience with managing access issues associated with electronic resources; knowledge and understanding of print and electronic serials including access and management issues ; demonstrated ability to manage technical projects; demonstrated commitment to customer service and collaborative approaches; ability to work independently, managing a complex workload in an on time, effective manner with minimum supervision; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work well as part of a team; ability to work evenings and weekends; firm commitment to the Library’s Statement of Objectives and College Mission.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Innovative
Interfaces Inc. and Serials Solutions products; developing /
maintaining e-resource management tools
and serial records; Demonstrated experience using database management
programs
(e.g., Microsoft Access); knowledge of trends in resource connectivity
(e.g.,
XML) and OpenSource.

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited Library/Information Science program or its equivalent degree if earned from outside the U.S. or Canada. Minimum five years of successful professional library experience in special collections, archives, or museum; demonstrated ability in evaluating, selecting, and processing personal papers, organizational records, and rare and unique print and electronic collections; and at least two years of supervisory experience. Responsibilities: The Oviatt Library is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and experienced Special Collections & Archives Librarian to develop and manage the rare and special collections, manuscript collections, an art collection, the Urban Archives and the University Archives; and to work closely with the directors of the Old China Hands Archive and the International Guitar Research Archive. The Special Collections & Archives Librarian organizes and operates the department by managing budget expenditures, hiring and supervising staff, and establishing department policies and standards. This position promotes, publicizes, and expands awareness of collections by developing finding aids and curricular support resources including updating the website with new finding aids and collection descriptions, services, etc.; maintaining productive faculty relationships; and creating and nurturing ties with the community and potential donors. Responsible for selection, acquisition, and management of collections of rare and unique materials; cultivates potential donors. Through outreach to local archives, museums, and historical societies, this position maintains a leadership role in establishing regional partnerships for building the record of history and culture in the region, and develops grant proposals to obtain funding for collaborative projects. Position Summary:
The Processing Archivist will work on a portion of the archives of
Sundance Institutes Film Festival and Lab Programs, and will arrange,
house, preserve, label, and describe these archival materials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Develop a preliminary inventory and processing plan, organize and
arrange textual and non-textual materials according to professional
archival standards
* Conduct basic preservation and reformatting activities for paper and
photographic materials
* Write a descriptive archival finding aid
* Catalog the materials into a basic FileMaker Pro database system
* Assist in selecting and preparing video content for digitization

JOB SUMMARY:
Working within the Library Research Services Program and under the
general supervision of the Sciences Team Leader, the incumbent is
responsible for providing instruction, collection development services
and outreach to the faculty and students in the Departments of Civil and
Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and
Mechanical Engineering. This position also serves as a member of the
Sciences Liaison team and is a full participant in the development and
