Colleagues and Friends,

I'm pleased to announce that the following scholars will be joining the faculty in the Rutgers' School of Communication and Information in 2010:

Rebecca Reynolds, PhD (2009, Syracuse University)

Dr. Reynolds received her Ph.D. in Mass Communications from the Newhouse School of Public Communications, her dissertation title is: Reconstructing "Digital Literacy" in a Constructionist Computer Club: The role of motivation, interest, and inquiry in children's purposive technology use.

 

Chirag Shah, PhD (2010, University of North Carolina, chapel Hill)

Dr. Chirag Shah received his Ph.D. in the School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, his dissertation title is: A Framework for Supporting User-centric Collaborative Information Seeking.

 

Xiaomu Zhou, ABD (University of Michigan)

Xiaomu Zhou is in the process of completing her Ph.D. in the School of Information at the University of Michigan.  Her dissertation examines gaps in clinicians' recorded medical information, with a special focus on patient psychosocial information.

Christina Dunbar-Hester, PhD (2008, Cornell University)

Dr. Dunbar-Hester completed her PhD in the Science and Technology Studies Program at Cornell, her dissertation title is: Propagating Technology, Propagating Community? Low-Power Radio Activism and Technological Negotiation in the U.S., 1996-2006.

 

David Karpf, PhD (2009, University of Pennsylvania)

Dr. Karpf completed his PhD in Political Science at Penn, his dissertation title is: Unexpected Transformations: The Internet’s Effect on Political Associations in American Politics.

 

Aram Sinnreich, PhD (2009, University of Southern California)

Dr. Sinnreich completed his PhD in the Annenberg School of Communication at USC, his dissertation title is : Configurable Culture: Mainstreaming the Remix, Remixing the Mainstream.
