Faculty Fellow Program: Seeking Applicants
Join us for the April 28 CoP Lunch At the March Brown Bag Lunch, participants shared additional examples of multimedia-based learning objects and discussed current and future initiatives in mobile learning. On Monday, May 3, 2010, OIT, along with Turning Technologies, will sponsor a clicker technology presentation featuring Dr. Derek Bruff, "noted professor and student response enthusiast." Dr. Bruff, assistant director at the Vanderbilt Center for Teaching and a senior lecturer in the Vanderbilt Department of Mathematics, is the author of Teaching with Classroom Response Systems: Creating Active Learning Environments. The presentation will be held in the Carolyn P. Brown University Center from 11:30am-12:30pm, followed by a Clicker Roundtable discussion for UTK faculty only. Seating is limited. Mobile Learning 2.0: On the Horizon In early March, members of the UT community attended the online Educause/ELI 2010 Spring Focus Session Mobile Learning 2.0: the Next Phase of Innovation in Mobility, hosted locally by the UT Libraries, and attended by hundreds of Educause and ELI members from across the country and around the world. Seventeen sessions over the course of this two-day event highlighted mobile learning projects, initiatives, and development activities currently underway in colleges and universities across the United States, and explored the emerging trends and likely development path of mobile technologies and mobile learning opportunities in the coming decade.
