STC-ETC Honors J. Paul Blakely with Student Scholarships, April 20, 6:00pm, Crowne Plaza, Knoxville

Members of the STC-ETC Blakely Committee, chaired by Professor Russ Hirst, UT English Department, invite you to attend the J. Paul Blakely Awards Banquet, Tuesday, April 20, 6:00pm, at the Crowne Plaza in Knoxville.

We will award four scholarships this year, one donated by the chapter and three donated by individuals. The committee is also recognizing other applicants for their promise as technical communicators and science writers with certificates of merit.

In addition to recognizing these students, the committee would like to invite all past Blakely winners to attend and be recognized.

These awards commemorate and honor the exceptional contributions J. Paul Blakely made to the chapter, Society, and community at large. He was especially supportive of students in their development as technical communicators. Despite a diagnosis of cancer, he continued to achieve and encourage others to achieve.

Please plan to attend to help recognize this excellent group of up-and-coming professionals.
