THE
KAWE MARCIA KATZ SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
Knoxville
Association of Women Executives (KAWE) Offering $1000 college scholarships to
two women students!
To carry
out their commitment to support further progression of women in the business
world, the Knoxville Association of Women Executives (KAWE) bestows an annual
scholarship. This year the scholarship has been set at $1000 each for two
deserving recipients. One will be given to an undergraduate and one to a
graduate student. The chosen applicants will be those who the association feels
have the best potential to succeed.
The
requirements for applicants are as follows:
•
Have
completed at least one semester at a 4-year accredited college and be currently
enrolled to take classes
•
Be
female
•
Be
available for an interview
•
Provide
a copy of an official current college transcript
•
Provide
two letters of recommendation
•
Meet
the deadline for receipt of applications—May 31, 2010
•
NOTE: Immediate
family members of a KAWE member are NOT eligible.

KAWE was
informally started in the summer of 1981 as business and professional women
began to gather on a regular basis for social support and networking. In the
fall of 1982, the first set of officers was formally elected, and the
association is now over 50 members strong! KAWE is made up of business owners
and professional women who see and enjoy the following benefits:

Meetings are held on the second
Thursday of each month, with a speaker who addresses topics pertinent to
business women.
