He is also a Senior Fellow at the Center for Applied Philosophy and Practical Ethics at the Australian National University and the Research Director for the Center for the Study of Mind in Nature at the University of Oslo. He is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science. Prior to moving to Yale, he held appointments in both philosophy and political science at Columbia University.
