THE POSITION:
Performs professional and supervisory duties involved in
planning, overseeing, and coordinating educational, recreational, and other
library programs for teen users. Performs related duties as required
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Coordinates and participates in providing teen services for
the library
Assists teen users in person, on the telephone and via electronic technology
Assists in maintaining and improving the teen web page
Assists in coordinating teen volunteer programs
Maintains library materials in the teen area
Works with library staff, teen advisory council, and teachers to establish
goals for teen programs
Explains rules, policies and procedures to teens, their families and teachers
Resolves problems, complaints associated with teen services
Assists in maintaining a safe and productive environment in the teen area
Supervises and evaluates employees in the teen area
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
in the area of Library Information Science, Education, or Social Services
and two (2) years of experience in working with youth between the ages of
11 and 18 years of age in an educational, recreational, or social services
environment.
Valid "Class D" driver’s license required
