Central Washington University
2010-2012

The James E. Brooks Library announces a graduate assistantship program for individuals who already have an MLS, or equivalent, and who desire a second subject master degree. This two-year program allows an individual to study in any of CWU’s more than twenty graduate programs while gaining valuable professional experience in an academic library.
Ideal for new or experienced tenure-seeking librarians, candidates must apply to the Office of Graduate Studies and Research at CWU and be accepted into a program prior to being accepted as a paid library graduate assistant.

Total benefits include a stipend of $8,100 per academic year, plus paid tuition, medical insurance and health center fees equaling approximately $8,400 to $10,100 per academic year. Summer study and employment opportunities may also be available.

Opportunities may be available for candidates to gain professional experience in reference, instruction, library technology and systems, technical services, outreach, archives and records management, government publications, maps, assessment and research.
