---------------------------------------------------- Electronic Services Librarian/Assistant Professor Health Sciences Library & Biocommunications Center University of Tennessee Health Science Center Primary Responsibilities: This position is responsible for coordinating the library's information technology systems and services (library computer hardware and software) and managing the integrated library system (ILS) and associated library web services, library online catalog, and other related library online resources. Academic expression is made through contributions to teaching, publication, research, and service. Qualifications: Master's degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited library school or an equivalent combination of a relevant advanced degree and experience. Experience administering Windows and Mac OS X, along with software and hardware troubleshooting skills. Knowledge and experience with multiple aspects of integrated library systems management. Experience using at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Ruby, Perl, Java, etc.) and a working knowledge of current trends in web development. This position reports to the head of Electronic and Collection Services. Supervises one full-time staff position (computer specialist). This is a 12-month, full-time, nontenure-track faculty appointment at the level of assistant professor. Annual salary of $55,000, and full benefits package including 24 vacation days; comprehensive health care; and retirement plans, including TIAA-CREF, optional 401k, and educational benefits.
